PUBLIC NOTICE | East Central Phoenix 32nd Street and Indian School Road WQARF PRAP Available

ADEQ has completed the Proposed Remedial Action Plan (PRAP) for the East Central Phoenix 32nd Street and Indian School Road Water Quality Assurance Revolving Fund (WQARF) site in Phoenix, Arizona. The PRAP documents the results of the remedial investigation/feasibility study (RI/FS) and identifies the proposed remedy and its estimated costs.

Information

The East Central Phoenix 32nd Street and Indian School Road WQARF site consists of a plume located in Phoenix, Arizona. The plume is bounded approximately by Indian School Road to the north, McDowell Street to the south, North 32nd Street to the east, and North 12th Street to the west. The contaminants of concern at the site are tetrachloroethene (PCE), trichloroethene (TCE), and the degradation by-products.

The proposed remedy for the site includes the following: soil vapor extraction (SVE) for soils, in-situ enhanced reductive dechlorination for groundwater, and monitored natural attenuation (MNA) for groundwater. The proposed remedy includes contingencies for the following: additional SVE for soil, additional MNA for groundwater, in-situ chemical oxidation technology implementation, and wellhead treatment. The estimated cost to implement this remedy, including contingencies, is approximately $15.3 million for a period of up to 20 years.
