Notice: Pursuant to the Clean Water Act and in accordance with Arizona Administrative Code (AAC) R18-9-A907, the ADEQ Director proposes to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Permit to discharge pollutants to U.S. waters for the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

Information
Utility Source applied for renewal of an AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 0.125 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated domestic wastewater from the Flagstaff Meadows Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to an unnamed wash, tributary to Volunteer Wash, eventual tributary to the Verde River in the Verde River Basin in Township 21 N, Range 5 E, Section 1 in Coconino County, Ariz. The Flagstaff Meadows WWTP is a privately owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential and commercial sources in Bellemont, Ariz. Sludge from the WWTP is pumped into storage tanks for aeration and settled to dewater. The dewatered sludge is hauled away by an off-site service company and disposed of at the Wildcat Hill Wastewater Treatment Plant for further treatment.

All written comments received by ADEQ by the close of business 30 days after publication of this notice will be considered in the final permit decision. A public hearing request must be in writing and must include the reasons for such request. If there is a significant degree of public interest, the Director will hold a hearing in accordance with AAC R18-9-A908(B).
