On Nov. 15, 2024, the comment period begins for the proposed Articles 1, 3, and 5: Voluntary Air Permits rulemaking. ADEQ proposes to amend air quality rules for the following purposes: 1. to allow permitted facilities to adopt voluntary permit conditions to protect ambient air quality; 2. to make technical corrections related to ADEQ’s new source review (NSR) rules; 3. to correct the gaps between ADEQ’s rules and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Title V requirements; and 4. to fulfill a five year rule review (5YRR) commitment ADEQ made to the Governor’s Regulatory Review Council. The comment period ends Dec. 16, 2024.
