COMMENT PERIOD BEGINS | Aquifer Protection Permit Exemption for NextGen Septic ZLD Treatment System in Cave Creek
On Nov. 17, 2022, the public comment period begins for the preliminary decision to provide the AZ Greenhouse Project LLC operation of the NextGen Septic Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Treatment System an exemption from the requirement to obtain an Aquifer Protection Permit based upon the determination that there will be no migration of pollutants directly to the aquifer or to the vadose zone. The comment period ends on Dec. 17, 2022.

Pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes (ARS) 49-241(B), the ADEQ Director intends to exempt the following applicant from the requirement of an Individual Aquifer Protection Permit (APP):
Facility Information
The NextGen Septic ZLD Treatment System is an onsite wastewater treatment system that uses a multi-step treatment process, which biologically treats the water, filters it using membranes, disinfects the treated water using ozone (generated from ambient air) and Ultraviolet Light, and then disperses the treated, disinfected water into the ambient air which results in no liquid discharge.
