Notice: Pursuant to the Clean Water Act and in accordance with Arizona Administrative Code (AAC) R18-9-A907, the Director of ADEQ proposes to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Renewal Permit to discharge pollutants to Waters of the United States to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

SRP applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of cooling tower blowdown, reverse osmosis reject water, low volume wastes and stormwater from the Kyrene Generating Station to the Salt River and the Phoenix Area Canal System in the Middle Gila River Basin in Township 1 S, Range 4 E, Section 10, in Maricopa County, Ariz. The Kyrene Generating Station is an electric power generating station and thus is considered to be a major facility under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program.
