Summary: 

The concentration of PM₁₀ in the ambient air in Rillito is frequently above the federal limit established in the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) is developing a nonattainment State Implementation Plan (SIP) to determine the control measures that are feasible and will help the area attain the NAAQS.

The Clean Air Act requires that ADEQ include:

• An updated emissions inventory, 
• A modeled attainment demonstration, and 
• Rules for PM₁₀ controls. 

ADEQ will work with permitted facilities, local government agencies, and community stakeholders in a collaborative effort to develop the SIP.
