Notice: Pursuant to the Clean Water Act and in accordance with Arizona Administrative Code (AAC) R18-9-A907, the ADEQ Director proposes to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Permit to discharge pollutants to U.S. waters for the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

Information

Central Arizona Water Conservation District (CAP) applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 0.05 million gallons per day (mgd) of non-domestic wastewater from the Havasu (Mark Wilmer) Pumping Plant to the Lake Havasu, Colorado River in the Colorado – Lower Gila River Basin in Township 11 N, Range 18 W, Section 23, in La Paz County, Arizona. The Havasu (Mark Wilmer) Pumping Plant is a federally constructed facility that removes the Colorado River water and transfers it to the CAP canal system. The facility is located approximately half way between Lake Havasu City and Parker, on the eastern shore of the Colorado River (Lake Havasu). The Havasu (Mark Wilmer) Pumping Plant is considered a minor industrial facility.

Public Comment Period 

Dates: Jan. 18, 2017 – Feb. 20, 2017

All written comments received by ADEQ by the close of business 30 days after publication of this notice will be considered in the final permit decision. A public hearing request must be in writing and must include the reasons for such request. If there is a significant degree of public interest, the Director will hold a hearing in accordance with AAC R18-9-A908(B).
