PUBLIC NOTICE | Proposed AZPDES Renewal Permit for the Town of Prescott Valley

Notice: Pursuant to the Clean Water Act and in accordance with Arizona Administrative Code (AAC) R18-9-A907, the ADEQ Director proposes to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Permit to discharge pollutants to U.S. waters to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

The Town of Prescott Valley applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 3.75 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated domestic wastewater from the Town of Prescott Valley Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to the Agua Fria River in the Middle Gila River Basin in Township 14 N, Range 1 E, Section 16, in Yavapai County, Ariz. The Town of Prescott Valley WWTP is a publicly owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential and commercial sources in the Town of Prescott Valley. Sludge is dewatered on site and hauled to an approved landfill for disposal.

Public Comment Period 

Dates: Jan. 18, 2017 – Feb. 17, 2017

All written comments received by ADEQ by the close of business 30 days after publication of this notice will be considered in the final permit decision. A public hearing request must be in writing and must include the reasons for such request. If there is a significant degree of public interest, the Director will hold a hearing in accordance with AAC R18-9-A908(B).
