PUBLIC NOTICE | Re-noticing the Proposal to List Mesa DBCP on the WQARF Site

ADEQ is re-noticing the proposal to list Mesa DBCP on the ADEQ Water Quality Assurance Revolving Fund (WQARF) site registry pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes §49-287.01 due to a discrepancy with notification dates.

The Mesa DBCP WQARF site consists of a plume located in Mesa, Ariz. The plume is bounded approximately by McDowell Road to the north, Broadway Road to the south, Higley Road to the east and Gilbert Road to the west. The boundaries described are intended to provide the public with the basic information regarding the estimated geographic extent of the currently known contamination. The actual extent of the contamination may differ; therefore the geographic boundaries may change as new information becomes available. The contaminants of concern at the site are 1, 2-Dibromo-3-Chloropropane (DBCP).

The site score is 34 out of 120. The site score is based upon a review of available information regarding the presence of hazardous substances at the site. The scoring of a site, its relative score or its placement on the registry does not necessarily represent a determination that the release of a hazardous substance from the site poses a threat to human health or welfare or the environment.
