On Aug. 8, 2024, the comment period begins for the the Proposed Remedial Action Plan (PRAP) for the East Central Phoenix 48th Street and Indian School Road Water Quality Assurance Revolving Fund (WQARF) site in Maricopa County, Arizona. The comment period was extended and now ends Nov. 22, 2024.
The PRAP documents the Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study (RI/FS) results, identifies the proposed remedy and estimates its cost.1
Site Information:
The East Central Phoenix 48th Street and Indian School Road WQARF site contains contaminated groundwater. The site's contaminant of concern is tetrachloroethene. Approximate site boundaries are Devonshire Avenue to the north, Weldon Avenue to the south, 48th Street to the east, and 42nd Street to the west in Phoenix.
The site’s proposed remedy includes: Monitored Natural Attenuation. Contingencies include downgradient well installation and three additional years of monitoring. The estimated cost to implement the remedy is approximately $2,766,000 over 18 years.
