Action Taken
ADEQ and the Salt River Project (SRP) entered into an agreement to conduct a source control interim remedial action (IRA) in 2000. As part of the IRA, SRP constructed a soil vapor extraction (SVE) system to remediate the source of PCE in soil. SRP relinquished control of the SVE system to ADEQ which continued to operate and was then decommissioned in 2012. A vapor intrusion indoor air assessment study took place during the summer of 2013 and in February 2014. This assessment focused on residences (specifically single-family homes and ground-floor residences of multi-unit buildings) and schools. Results indicated that there was no threat to residences from vapor intrusion and that no indoor mitigation systems were necessary.
