Hazardous Waste Permitting

Ecobat is operating as a hazardous waste recycler whose main waste stream is lithium-ion batteries destined for recycling. Ecobat has submitted an application for a hazardous waste permit for the storage of hazardous wastes under the Arizona Hazardous Waste Management Act so that they may store waste prior to recycling.

• ADEQ will publish a public notice for the draft hazardous waste permit in the local newspaper that will provide details about:
  • How to review the draft permit,
  • The timing for the formal public comment period (which will be a minimum of 45 days), and 
  • How to submit public comments.
