Smoke Map For 1/10/2025
Overview
Note: This will be the last smoke forecast for the Horton Fire unless conditions change.The Horton Fire is located about 17 miles northeast of Payson. It is approximately 8,337 acres and is 55% contained.
Yesterday, light smoke dispersed to the southwest throughout the afternoon, with residual smoke settling into local drainages near the fire overnight.

Smoke Synopsis
This morning, any residual smoke in Tonto Estates, Christopher Creek, and along Hwy 260 will lift out by 10 am.During the day today, residual smoke from smolder will disperse to the southwest throughout the day. Light daytime smoke impacts will be possible to Tonto Estates, Christopher Creek, and Hwy 260. Overnight smoke will drain down the Horton and Tonto Creek drainages, draining to the southwest and south respectively. Light overnight smoke impacts are possible to Tonto Estates, Christopher Creek, and Hwy 260.
Any smoke that settles into Tonto Estates, Christopher Creek, along Hwy 260, Star Valley, and Payson will lift out by 10 am tomorrow morning.
For tomorrow, residual smoke off the fire will be light and continue to decrease over the next few days.
