Dragon Bravo and White Sage Fires
Special Statement:
Smoke Map For
Overview
The Dragon Bravo Fire is located northwest of North Rim and is approximately 13,600 acres. Yesterday, smoke dispersed to the northeast in the afternoon, with residual smoke settling into the Grand Canyon near the fire.
Smoke Synopsis
This morning, smoke has settled into areas of the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Smoke will rise and disperse out of the canyon later in the day. Smolder within the fire perimeters will likely persist over the next few days.
Today, smoke will rise over the Dragon Bravo Fire site and disperse to the northeast again, similar to yesterday. Cloud cover may help to moderate fire activity initially in the morning. Smoke will move over Hwy 89 and towards Page. Then by evening and overnight, residual smoke will settle back into the Grand Canyon, with the degree of impacts depending on fire activity. Minimal smoke impacts are expected to Tusayan, Valle, and Cameron.
For smoke impacts to North Rim sites, visit the U.S. Interagency Wildland Fire Air Quality Response Program's Smoke Outlook site.
Tomorrow, smoke will rise and disperse to the northeast during the day again.
