Why do I need a Concrete Batch Plant General Permit?

The Concrete Batch Plant General Permit allows facilities to produce concrete under air quality rules. The Concrete Batch Plant General Permit limits the throughput to 2,000 cubic yards of concrete per day.  This permit covers the following types of equipment: pugmills, silos, boilers, internal combustion engines, baghouses, storage bins, storage piles, wash plants, direct-fired fuel-burning equipment (water heater) and vehicular traffic.
