On Feb. 19, 2025, the comment period begins for the work plan for the Pinal Valley Soil Program Voluntary Remediation Program (VRP) site. The comment period ends March 21, 2025.

Notice Details: 

ADEQ has received a work plan and probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) for the Pinal Valley Soil Program VRP site.  The work plan proposes soil investigation and remediation on eligible residential, non-residential, and publicly owned developed properties located in proximity to the Miami Smelter in Miami-Globe, Arizona. These documents were submitted in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.) § 49-175 and § 176. 

The Pinal Valley Soil Program VRP site consists of a Study Area defined by Figure 1 in the work plan and located in Miami-Globe, Arizona. The contaminant of concern at the site is arsenic.
