On Sept. 4, 2024, the comment period begins for the work plan for the Douglas-Pirtleville Soil Program Phase II Voluntary Remediation Program (VRP) site. The comment period ends Oct. 4, 2024.
Notice Details:
ADEQ has received a Remedial Action Work Plan (the RAWP) for the Douglas-Pirtleville Soil Program Phase II VRP site. The RAWP addresses remediation of soil and was submitted in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes § 49-175 and § 176.
The Douglas-Pirtleville Soil Program Phase II VRP site consists of soil testing and remediation on eligible residential, non-residential and publicly-owned properties located in the vicinity of Douglas and Pirtleville, Arizona. Contaminants of concern associated with historic smelter operations consist of metals, specifically arsenic, copper and lead. The RAWP provides details on soil removal, replacement, and landscape restoration on properties where soil testing has shown metal concentrations exceeding risk-based cleanup levels.
