Small Water Systems 2025 Master Priority List

Posted on: May 10, 2024 - 7:00 a.m.

On May 10, 2024, the comment period begins for the draft Master Priority List for fiscal year 2025, which helps determine the small water systems across Arizona that are most in need of technical assistance. The comment period ends June 10, 2024.

Background Information:

In Arizona, 95% of public water systems are classified as “small water systems” serving 10,000 or fewer persons. ADEQ’s capacity development program works to ensure those water systems possess the technical, managerial and financial capacity to operate in alignment with all drinking water rules and regulations. Our technical assistance program also reaches out to these water systems to provide or facilitate assistance with compliance.

As funding is available, we award technical assistance to systems with the highest Master Priority List rankings and who are willing to work with us and our technical assistance providers. The Water Infrastructure Financing Authority (WIFA) also uses the list to identify possible candidates for additional technical assistance and/or financial assistance.
