On June 20, 2024, the comment period begins for the proposal to issue an Arizona Pollution Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) renewal permit to the Town of Cave Creek for the water reclamation facility located in Maricopa County, Arizona. The comment period ends July 20, 2024.

Town of Cave Creek applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 0.66 million gallons per day of treated domestic wastewater from the Town of Cave Creek Water Reclamation Facility to the Galloway Wash and to an Unnamed Wash which are tributaries to Cave Creek (headwaters to the Cave Creek Dam) in Maricopa County, Arizona. This facility is a publicly owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential and commercial sources in Cave Creek. Sludge is dewatered using a belt press for final disposal at the Northwest Regional Landfill in Surprise, Arizona.
