City of Phoenix applied for a permit for the proposed discharge of up to 8 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated domestic wastewater from the Cave Creek Water Reclamation Plant to an unnamed wash, tributary to Cave Creek, in Maricopa County, Arizona. The plant is a publicly owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential, commercial, and industrial sources in Phoenix, Arizona. Sludge is transported to the 91st Avenue Wastewater Treatment Plant that provides treatment and disposal.
