On March 16, 2026, the comment period begins for the draft Oak Creek Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL), which is designed to identify the maximum amount of a pollutant that Oak Creek can receive and still meet water quality standards. The comment period ends April 15, 2026.
Background Information:
The purpose of a TMDL is to identify the pollution reductions needed to get a waterbody to meet water quality standards, thereby supporting the designated uses of the waterbody. ADEQ has drafted an update to the Oak Creek TMDL for Escherichia coli (E. coli) from 2010, and we present it for public comment.
