The Town of Gila Bend applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 0.7 million gallons per day (MGD) of treated domestic wastewater from Gila Bend WWTP Outfall to the Unnamed Wash (EDW) to the confluence with the Gila River in the Middle Gila River Basin in Township 5 S, Range 5 W, Section 26, in Maricopa County, Arizona. The Town of Gila Bend WWTP is a publicly-owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential, commercial, and industrial sources in Gila Bend. The facility consists of treatment lagoons and stabilization ponds. Smaller settling ponds are used as wetlands. The facultative lagoon system does not generate biosolids.
