Air Quality Permit Renewal | Energy Fuels Resources — Arizona 1 Mine

On March 12, 2025, the comment period begins for the proposal to issue Air Quality Control Renewal Permit Number 102492 to Energy Fuels Resources (USA) Inc. for the continued operation of an underground uranium mine located 36 miles southwest of Fredonia, Arizona. The comment period ends on April 11, 2025.

The facility emits the following air contaminants: coarse particulate matter with diameters 10 micrometers or less (PM10), fine particulate matter with diameters 2.5 micrometers or less (PM2.5), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), nitrogen oxides (NOX),  lead (Pb), sulfur dioxide (SO2), carbon monoxide (CO), and hazardous air pollutants (HAPS).
