Aquifer Protection Permit Amendment | Pinyon Plain Mine

Energy Fuels Resources, Inc., and ADEQ have entered into a Changed Application Agreement for an ‘other’ amendment to the Aquifer Protection Program (APP) Permit for Pinyon Plain Mine, to revise the Alert Level and Aquifer Quality Limit after monitoring indicated a change in arsenic concentrations in groundwater that were not due to the addition of pollutants to the aquifer from the facility’s discharge. The facility is located approximately six miles south-southeast of Tusayan in Coconino County, Arizona.

APP Permit No.: 100333

The requirements in this permit will allow the permittee to comply with the two key requirements of the APP: 1) meet Aquifer Water Quality Standards at the Point of Compliance; and 2) demonstrate Best Available Demonstrated Control Technology.
