The Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) announces that a five-year review will be conducted for Luke Air Force Base. Response actions on the following Installation Restoration Program Sites at Luke Air Force Base have been conducted in accordance with the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA)​, which requires that a five-year review be conducted:

  • RW002 — Low-Level Radioactive Burial Site
  • LF003 — Outboard Runway Landfill
  • FT007E — North Fire Training Area – East
  • DP023 — Old Surface Impoundment
  • DP013 — Drainage Ditch Disposal Area
  • LF014 — Old Salvage Yard Burial Site
  • ST018 — Liquid Waste Storage Facility
  • SD020 — Oil/Water Separator Canal and Earth Fissure
  • LF025 — Northwest Landfill
  • SD038 — OWS at Auto Hobby Shop
  • SS042 — Bulk Fuels Storage Area
  • TU044 — Waterdog Annex

The review will be conducted to ensure that the response action and final recommendations for these sites at Luke Air Force Base remain protective of human health and the environment and in accordance with the United States Environmental Protection Agency Five-Year Review Guidance. The Air Force is the lead agency for this five-year review.

This review commenced in September 2021 and is scheduled for completion in October 2022.

A second notice will be provided to the public regarding the availability of the final five-year review report, which will be available for review at the following locations:
