Pursuant to the Clean Water Act and in accordance with Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R18-9-A907, the Director of the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) proposes to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Permit to discharge pollutants to Waters of the United States to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

Facility Information

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed average discharge of 7.63 million gallons per day (mgd) of process water from Willow Beach National Fish Hatchery to the Colorado River in the Colorado River Basin in Township 29 N, Range 22 E, Sections 22 and 29, in Mohave County, Arizona. The Willow Beach National Fish Hatchery is a flow-through hatchery with no treatment processes except partial screening of intake water for algae prior to routing through the hatchery. Fish wastes are not considered biosolids under the 40 CFR 503 provisions.
