ADEQ proposes to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) permit to discharge pollutants to Waters of the United States to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

Facility Information
The City of Buckeye applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 4.5 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated domestic wastewater from the Central Buckeye Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to a lateral of the Buckeye Water Conservation and Drainage District (BWCDD) Canal, the Roosevelt Irrigation District (RID) Canal and Buckeye Canal in the Middle Gila River Basin in Township 1 S and 1 N, Range 3 W, Section 8, 13 and 35, in Maricopa County, Arizona. The Central Buckeye WWTP is a publicly owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential, commercial, sources in the City of Buckeye. Sludge is treated in aerobic digesters before de-watering on site and then hauled and disposed of at Southwest Regional Landfill in Buckeye, Arizona.
