PUBLIC NOTICE | Proposed Revision to SIP: New Source Review — Significant Emission Rate for Ammonia in PM2.5 Nonattainment Areas
ADEQ welcomes comments on the proposed 2019 State Implementation Plan (SIP): New Source Review—Significant Emission Rate for Ammonia in PM2.5 Nonattainment Areas. The SIP revision proposes to adopt a significant emission rate for ammonia, as a precursor in the formation of secondary PM2.5, in PM2.5 nonattainment areas. Additionally, the SIP revision proposes to amend several rules in Arizona’s approved SIP to make technical corrections to improve clarity. The SIP revision will be submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency for incorporation into Arizona’s State Implementation Plan as required by the federal Clean Air Act.
