ADEQ proposes to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Permit to discharge pollutants to Waters of the United States to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

Facility Information

EPCOR Water – Chaparral City applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 1 million gallons per day (mgd) of process water from the Shea Water Treatment Plant (WTP) to an unnamed wash tributary to Cereus Wash, tributary to the Verde River in the Verde River Basin in Township 3 N, Range 6 E, Section 21, in Maricopa County, Arizona. The Shea WTP is a privately owned public water treatment plant that treats surface water from the Central Arizona Project Canal and is served to the public for domestic and municipal purposes in Fountain Hills. Sludge from the lagoon is hauled to a landfill.
