Why do I need a Crushing and Screening Plant General Permit?

This permit allows activity requiring crushed stone and/or the production of concrete. Crushing and screening plants produce crushed stone. Concrete batch plants can also be operated under this permit to produce concrete. This permit covers the following types of equipment: crushers, screens, pugmills, silos, boilers, internal combustion engines, baghouses, storage bins, storage piles, wash plants, direct-fired fuel burning equipment and vehicular traffic. This permit is valid for five years from the date of issuance.
