United States Department of Interior National Park Service applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 0.060 million gallons per day (MGD) of treated domestic wastewater from the North Rim WWTP to Transept Canyon in the Colorado Grand Canyon River Basin in Township 33 N, Range 3 E, Section 34, in Coconino County, Arizona. The North Rim WWTP is a federally-owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential and commercial sources from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Sludge dried in beds on-site prior to transport to the South Rim WWTP for final composting, blending, and land application.
