New Reclaimed Water Permit | Arizona State Prison Complex – Yuma

On Sept. 14, 2026, the comment period begins for the preliminary decision to issue a new Aquifer Protection Program (APP) Reclaimed Water Permit to the Arizona Department of Corrections for the Arizona State Prison Complex – Yuma located in Yuma County, Arizona. The comment period ends Oct. 14, 2026.

The Arizona Department of Corrections has applied for a new Individual APP Reclaimed Water Permit to reinstate the use of treated wastewater effluent (Class B+) and reverse osmosis reject water for irrigation use at five grass fields on the property. Irrigation with blended wastewater is to sustain grass grown in the fields at the facility and is not necessary to meet the disposal capacity for the facility.
