On June 23, 2026, the comment period begins for the proposal to approve the biohazardous medical waste facility plan for the Stericycle, Inc. Flagstaff biohazardous medical waste storage and transfer facility located in Coconino County, Arizona. The comment period ends July 23, 2026.
The applicant seeks to co-locate their facility at the existing Waste Management of Arizona, Inc. Flagstaff Hauling and Transfer Station that is permitted separately.

Stericycle, Inc., Flagstaff will receive biohazardous medical waste for storage and transfer. The proposed operations will consist of collection route vehicles with collection containers that will depart and complete their designated routes. Once a transfer trailer is filled with waste, it will be hauled to a permitted Stericycle treatment facility, including the Stericycle autoclave facility in Tempe, Arizona, or to other designated off-site facilities.
