Wet-Dry Mapping is an easy volunteer opportunity for all ages. Volunteers watch the micro video lesson, print a field data form, and head out to a stream to collect wet-dry mapping data. Volunteers collect data by walking a steam reach and recording the wet stream segments with geographic coordinates.
We have over 100,000 stream miles in the state and only 18 percent of the streams have flow regimes assigned. The data volunteers help gather will allow us to apply a flow regime to a stream and protect the stream with the appropriate water quality standards.
