Renewal AZPDES Permit | Global Water – Palo Verde Utilities, Inc.

On April 26, 2024, the comment period begins for the proposal to issue a renewal Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) permit to Global Water – Palo Verde Utilities, Inc. for their water reclamation facility located in Pinal County, Arizona. The comment period ends May 26, 2024.

Global Water – Palo Verde Utilities Company, LLC applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to six (6) million gallons per day (MGD) of treated domestic wastewater from the Campus 1 Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) to the Santa Rosa Wash in the Santa Cruz – Rio Magdelena – Rio Sonoyta River Basin in Township 4 S, Range 3, Sections 14, 23, and 26 in Pinal County, Arizona. The Global Water – Palo Verde utilities Company, LLC Campus 1 WRF is a privately-owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential sources in the City of Maricopa. Sludge is stabilized in an aerobic digester and mechanically dewatered with belt press machines. The dewatered sludge (including screening, grit and scum) will be stored and dried in the Biosolids Solar Drying Bed (BSDB) before hauled off-site for management or to landfill for disposal.
