Forecast Discussion:
The low-pressure wave that brought precipitation and cooler air into Arizona over the weekend as moved onto the Southern Plains. In its wake, Arizona will have relative high pressure today. However, another low-pressure wave will dive southward into the state Wednesday into Thursday. This next system will be dry, so no rain is expected in southeastern Arizona. However, temperatures will get knocked down a notch or two. Then by the weekend, higher pressure will filter in behind the low pressure, and temperatures will trend upwards again.
As for PM10 (dust), PM10 is running low this morning. The recent rain is likely helping to limit PM10. After today, breezes on Wednesday and Thursday may result in pockets of dust from drier areas. However, PM10 should still stay in the Good AQI category. By Friday and into the weekend, PM10 will become locally driven again from light winds.
