Action Taken
The Luke Waterdog site was initially utilized by the U.S. Air Force (USAF) to facilitate access to Apache Lake for both military and civilian USAF personnel. Four Underground Storage Tanks (USTs) were connected to fuel pumps situated near a floating dock for the purpose of boat refueling. Residual petroleum constituents in the groundwater are a result of Leaking USTs that occurred during the 1990s.
- Petrofix pilot test completed in 2022
- Semi-annual groundwater sampling
Status
The site is currently in Long Term Monitoring, during which the Air Force performs semi-annual groundwater monitoring activities in the Fall and Spring.
