Location: Tucson, generally bounded to the north by the East Alturas Street, to the south by East Sahuaro Street, to the east by North Estrella Avenue and to the west by North Castro Avenue. The site includes a mixture of public, commercial and residential land uses near Grant Road.

Contaminants of concern: Tetrachloroethene (PCE)

Action taken: A preliminary investigation report was completed by ADEQ in February 2016.  Phase I and II Environmental Assessments were completed in 2014 by the city of Tucson that showed soil-gas contaminated with PCE beneath the building at 2332 North Stone Ave. In addition, ADEQ has been remediating a leaking underground storage tank (LUST) located at 1 East Grant Road. PCE was found in perched groundwater at the LUST site.

Remedial Investigations and an Early Response Action are planned for summer 2017.

Community involvement activities: A community involvement area has been established and a fact sheet will be mailed to those located in and near the area.
