The Glen Canyon Dam Power Plant Drainage Sumps is a federally owned hydroelectric power plant that receives treated non-domestic wastewater from various sources upstream of the generating turbines in Page, Ariz. On Nov. 20, 2018, ADEQ received a request from the permittee to modify the AZPDES permit, which became effective on June 20, 2017. The permit authorizes discharge of non-domestic wastewater from two sumps located at the Glen Canyon Dam to the Colorado River in the Colorado – Grand Canyon River Basin in Township 41 N, Range 8 E, Section 24, in Coconino County, Arizona. The modification request is to establish a mixing zone for copper.
