Notice: Pursuant to the Clean Water Act and in accordance with Arizona Administrative Code (AAC) R18-9-A907, the ADEQ Director proposes to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Permit to discharge pollutants to waters of the U.S. to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

The City of El Mirage applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 3.6 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated domestic wastewater from the El Mirage Wastewater Reclamation Facility (WRF) to the Agua Fria River in the Middle Gila River Basin in Township 3N, Range 1W, Section 25, in Maricopa County, Arizona. The El Mirage WRF is a publicly owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential, commercial, and industrial sources in El Mirage. Dewatered sludge is discharged to a lined bin and hauled to Northwest Regional Landfill for disposal.
