ADEQ proposes to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) permit to discharge pollutants to Waters of the United States to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

Facility Information
ADEQ applied for a new AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 0.58 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated groundwater from the Central Tucson PFAS Project Demonstration Facility to the Santa Cruz River in the Santa Cruz River Basin in Township 14 S, Range 14 E, Section 22, in Pima County, Arizona. The Central Tucson PFAS Project Demonstration Facility is a groundwater remediation facility in Tucson, Arizona. ADEQ is conducting the Central Tucson PFAS Project Pilot Test at a former Tucson Water production well site (C-007A) to prove long-term efficacy of ion exchange treatment for the removal of per and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from impact groundwater.
