PUBLIC NOTICE | Proposal to Renew Air Quality General Permit for Concrete Batch Plants

ADEQ has reached a preliminary determination and is proposing to renew the Air Quality General Permit for Concrete Batch Plants. General Permits are a type of permit that applies to a class of sources; consequently, these revisions will affect multiple sources throughout the state. These permits contain requirements from the Federal Clean Air Act, Arizona Revised Statute 49-426, the Arizona Administrative Code, Title 18, Chapter 2 and applicable regulations from Maricopa, Pima, and Pinal county codes.

The Air Quality Control General Permit for Concrete Batch Plants is a renewal of the current permit. The Concrete Batch Plant General Permit covers stationary or portable facilities. Facilities permitted under the proposed Concrete Batch Plants General Permit may emit the following air contaminants: particulate matter, particulate matter with aerodynamic diameter less than 10 microns, particulate matter with aerodynamic diameter less than 2.5 microns, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and volatile organic compounds.
