ADEQ proposes to issue an AZPDES permit to discharge pollutants to Waters of the United States to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

Facility Information

Liberty Utilities applied for an AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 4.4 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated domestic wastewater from the Sarival Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) to the Roosevelt Irrigation District (RID) Canal in the Middle Gila River Basin in Township 1 N, Range 2 W, Section 1, in Maricopa County, Arizona. The Sarival WRF is a privately-owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential, commercial, and industrial sources of Western Service Area which includes portions of Litchfield Park, Glendale, Goodyear, and unincorporated Maricopa County. Sludge is stabilized in an aerobic digester and then thickened or dewatered. Sludge will be hauled to an approved landfill. In an emergency, liquid sludge can be transported to Liberty Utilities’ Palm Valley WRF (APP permit #100310) for storage, digestion and dewatering prior to disposal.
