Forecast Discussion:
Today and Thursday, high pressure will dominate the Southwest, causing winds in Nogales to be relatively light both days. As a result, PM10 (dust) should be mostly locally driven. Then by Friday, the weather pattern over Arizona will begin to transition from the high pressure to low pressure. Winds will pick up out of the southwest in the afternoon. In general, these winds will help to reduce PM10 build-up from local activity. However, we can't rule out the potential for some dust.
Finally, over the weekend, winds will increase much more out of the southwest as low pressure takes over the West. The potential for dust will be greater on Saturday and Sunday, but particularly Sunday, when winds are forecast to be strongest.
