PUBLIC NOTICE | Proposed Arizona SIP Revision - Removal of R18-2-310

ADEQ welcomes comments on the proposed Arizona State Implementation Plan (SIP) Revision — Removal of R18-2-310 Affirmative Defenses for Excess Emissions Due to Startup, Shutdown and Malfunction (SSM).

Pursuant to the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) SSM SIP Call issued June 12, 2015, Arizona proposes to remove R18-2-310 from Arizona’s SIP so it is no longer federally enforceable and would only be applicable to state enforcement actions. The revision will be submitted to the EPA for incorporation in Arizona’s SIP as required under the Clean Air Act.
