PUBLIC NOTICE | East Central Phoenix 40th Street and Osborn Road WQARF Site Draft Remedial Investigation Report and Solicitation of Remedial Objectives

ADEQ has released the draft remedial investigation (RI) report for the East Central Phoenix 40th Street and Osborn Road Water Quality Assurance Revolving Fund (WQARF) site in Maricopa County, Arizona. An RI is conducted to document the nature and extent of the contamination and the sources thereof; identify current and potential impacts to public health, welfare, and the environment; identify current and reasonably foreseeable uses of land and waters of the state; and obtain and evaluate any other information necessary for identification and comparison of alternative remedial actions. Proposed remedial objectives (RO) are solicited from the public and are the cleanup goals determined for a specific site and consider the current and reasonably foreseeable future uses of land and waters of the state.

Site Information

The East Central Phoenix 40th Street and Osborn Road WQARF site consists of a plume bounded approximately by East Fairmont Avenue to the north, East Hubbell Street to the south, 42nd Street to the east, and 25th Street to the west.

The contaminant of concern at the site is tetrachloroethene (PCE).

Public Meeting

A Community Advisory Board (CAB) meeting will be held at a date and time to be determined. All interested parties will be given an opportunity at the meeting to comment on both the draft RI report and to provide input for the proposed RO for the site.
