PUBLIC NOTICE | Broadway-Pantano WQARF PRAP Available

ADEQ has completed the Proposed Remedial Action Plan (PRAP) for the Broadway-Pantano Water Quality Assurance Revolving Fund (WQARF) site in Tucson, Ariz. The PRAP documents the results of the remedial investigation/feasibility study (RI/FS) and identifies the proposed remedy and its estimated costs.

Information

The Broadway-Pantano WQARF site consists of a plume located in Tucson. The plume is bounded approximately by Speedway Boulevard to the north, 22nd Street to the south, Pantano Wash to the east, and Craycroft Road to the west. Contaminants of concern at the site are tetrachloethene, trichloroethene, arsenic, cadmium and lead.

The proposed remedy for the site includes engineering controls, institutional controls, monitored natural attenuation, inspections and environmental sampling, soil vapor extraction, and in-situ chemical oxidation with contingencies for groundwater pump and treat, wellhead treatment, water supply replacement, and additional soil vapor extraction. The estimated cost to implement this remedy, including contingencies, is approximately $28.3 million for a period of 30 years.
