ADEQ AZPDES General Permits Worksession
As part of ADEQ's continuing efforts to improve permitting processes and
increase efficiency wherever possible, we are inviting stakeholders to
participate in a series of worksessions to assist in the development of
new Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) general
permits for discharges which are currently regulated under individual
AZPDES permits. During this second worksession on January 27th, ADEQ
will continue discussions of the first two proposed general permits: 1)
Minor Wastewater Treatment Plants (design flow < 1 mgd) Discharging to
Ephemeral or Effluent-dependent Waters, and 2) Infrequent Dischargers.
Revised drafts of these two general permits will be posted to the ADEQ
homepage for review no later than one week prior to this meeting, and a
notice will be sent via the listserve. Subsequent meetings will be held
every other Thursday through mid-March 2011 and will include additional
presentations and discussions of draft general permits for Arsenic
Treatment Plants and Biosolids. The AZPDES General Permits Worksessions
will be held at ADEQ headquarters in Phoenix, with participation
available by broadcasts via web conference at the ADEQ Regional Offices
in Flagstaff and Tucson.
