ADEQ AZPDES General Permits Worksession

 

As part of ADEQ's continuing efforts to improve permitting processes and
increase efficiency wherever possible, we are inviting stakeholders to
participate in an ongoing series of worksessions to assist in the
development of new Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System
(AZPDES) general permits for discharges which are currently regulated
under individual AZPDES permits.  During this fourth worksession on
February 24th, ADEQ will present the revisions to the two new proposed
general permits: 1) Arsenic Treatment Plants, and 2) Biosolids.  The
revised drafts of these two proposed general permits will be posted to
the ADEQ homepage for review on Friday, February 18th, and a notice will
be sent via the listserve.  Please note: The next worksession has been
postponed until March 24, 2011, when we will present the revised drafts
of all four proposed general permits: 1) Minor Wastewater Treatment
Plants (design flow < 1 mgd) Discharging to Ephemeral or
Effluent-dependent Waters; 2) Infrequent Dischargers, 3) Arsenic
Treatment Plants, and 4) Biosolids.  This is expected to be the final
worksession prior to the public comment period.  The AZPDES General
Permits Worksessions will be held at ADEQ headquarters in Phoenix, with
participation available by broadcasts via web conference at the ADEQ
Regional Offices in Flagstaff and Tucson.
