Health message for Thursday, March 25: No health impacts are expected.

Synopsis and Discussion
Wednesday and Thursday will have a brief glimpse of the weather to come next week as a weak ridge of high pressure passes through the region. Mostly sunny skies, relatively light winds and afternoon desert temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s can be expected. All pollutants are forecast to remain in the "Good" range of the Air Quality Index (AQI) during this period.

A trough of low pressure shoves the ridge east on Friday, producing breezy conditions across the deserts. Temperatures will also take a dip into the mid 70s. No rain is expected with this disturbance, increasing the possibility of some isolated pockets of blowing dust on Friday. However, recent Valley rain should be enough to hold PM10 levels below the "Moderate" category. Calmer conditions return for the weekend, allowing those temperatures to rebound once again to the lower 80s. Further warming to the upper 80s by next Tuesday and Wednesday is likely with further strengthening of the ridge of high pressure over the western U.S. A simultaneous upward trend in ozone concentrations is likely Saturday through early next week as well.

Check back Thursday for more. Until then, have a good day! -J.Paul
